It goes without saying that Uni/TAFE students struggle financially. The Hungry Students program is there to provide assistance for students during hard times and we are all the more grateful for giving back and helping out a mate in need.
Hungry Students is fully funded by the Yourimbah student association. This program is designed to assist students of the University of Newcastle Ourimbah Campus and TAFE students of the Hunter Institute Ourimbah Campus, in times of need.
The Hungry Students program provides groceries to students to assist in defraying their weekly living expenses. This program acknowledges there are many challenges facing students that directly impact on their study and their ability to stay engaged with the University or TAFE.
In addition, the Hungry Students program works in conjunction with other programs offered on Ourimbah Campus to directly address the issues that may be impacting these students, to assist them to get back on their feet.
