Looking for an opportunity to gain extra experience in teaching & youth education?
Volunteering as a Scout Leader provides opportunities to:
- Plan & deliver programmes,
- Manage youth in a wide range of settings ,
- Deal with parents & other adults,
- Plan & run outings & camps. and
- Contribute positively to the development & growth of youth from 6 to 18 years of age.
As you progress through Scouts opportunities may also arise to lead & teach adults.
What is the Cost?
There is no cost involved for volunteer leaders in meeting their weekly Scouting commitment. Your Group covers training expenses. However, for major events such as Jamborees you may be asked to contribute in whole or in part to these costs.
You may also have to purchase your own uniform, and depending on the activities of your Group, you may need to purchase (or borrow) some of your own equipment from time to time.
