Create 2258 is a celebration of Creativity and Imagination. The 2017 festival will take place on the Ourimbah Campus from Monday 11 to Friday 15 September 2017.

Creat 2258 celebrates the importance of vibrant creative arts practice, collaboration and experimentation in enriching the student and staff experience of studying and working at UON. It seeks to engage the whole campus community.

Project funding and other support will be provided to successful applicants. Please note that if your submission is successful, you will be responsible for delivery of the project (with our support). 

Proposals for Create 2258 Project Funding and support are requested not only from staff and students studying or teaching in the arts, but equally from those active in the arts and creative pursuits off campus. 

All enthusiasts who wish to share their passion and talent as part of the festival are encouraged to make a submission.

Submissions that involve any of the following elements will be highly regarded:
• collaborations between students and staff;
• collaborations across faculties;
• cross artform projects;
• staging, performance or presentation in unusual places and spaces;
• projects that engage a large number of participants or audience.

• Submissions will be considered from current members of the University Community – students, academic staff, professional staff.
• Proposals may be for any type of artistic project.
• The majority of those active in creating or delivering the project must be current students or staff of the University of Newcastle.
• The project is to be delivered during the festival period – 11 to 15 September 2017.
• Proposals may include components of development that occur prior to the festival period - such as workshops or content creation activities.
• Funding will not be available for the payment of wages or remuneration.
